Once the enamel has been trimmed, the dentist will make an impression of the teeth to receive the porcelain veneers. From this impression, a dental laboratory will be able to construct veneers that are the perfect size and shape for you.
After one to two weeks, your custom crafted porcelain veneers will be ready to be bonded to your teeth. Before the veneers are affixed to the teeth, your Anderson Dental dentist will temporarily place it on the tooth and examine the color, shape, and fit of the veneer. Our dentists are not satisfied with placing a porcelain veneer unless it looks and feels like one of your natural teeth. The tooth that is being treated will be cleaned, polished, and etched to ensure a firm bonding surface. Our dentist will bond the veneer to your tooth using a dental adhesive that hardens when exposed to a special light beam.
